It’s time to visit a local orchard or pumpkin patch for your favorite produce. Apples and pumpkins abound, but be sure to check the website through the link below for their current hours and health restrictions.
Pippin Orchards has been providing farm fresh produce for Cranston residents for decades. They’re open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily and feature Red Delicious, Empire, Empire, Cortland, and Gala apples, so pick a mixed bag for $25 and enjoy them all.
This is one the largest orchards in the state and it is open for picking between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. daily until late fall. They also have free hayrides on the weekend.
Varieties include Rhode Island Greening, Empire, Golden Delicious, and more. The Apple Fest on October 7th and 8th is a must. Enjoy music, baked goods, and various homemade wares.
An entire two acres on this farm are dedicated to apples. You can pick your own mid-September to Columbus Day weekend on Sundays. Call for hours and COVID requirements.
Dame Farm is open for pick your own Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. and Saturday, 9 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. They offer Gala, Cortland, McIntosh, Macoun, Honeycrisp, and other great apple varieties.
This farm offers many apple varieties includingSummer Golden (Pristine), Sansa, Zestar, Summer McIntosh, Gingergold, McIntosh, Gala, Golden Supreme, Honeycrisp, Macoun, Cortland, Jonagold, Empire, Golden Delicious, Fuji, and Mutsu (Crispin). Apple picking continues until early October.
Sweet berry also offers pumpkin picking until the end of October. Hours are 9:00 a.m. -6:00 p.m. daily.
Narrow Lane is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. everyday. However, they suggest you call ahead before visiting if inclement weather is forecasted. Redfree apples are in season at the moment, but apple season usually runs into October and they grow at least a dozen additional varieties.
This multi-generational farm has been growing tree fruit for 89-years. They offer Honeycrisp, Jonagold, Cortland, McIntosh, and Gala apples as they ripen throughout the season. They also grow great pumpkins. You can pick between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and until 6 p.m. on weekends.
This family-run pick-your-own orchard has been in operation since 1800. They offer apples and pumpkins and their picking hours are between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. daily. They also have hayrides!
Jaswell’s is currently open Wednesday through Sunday from 9 a.m.-4p.m. Call for a reservation for apple picking. Their outdoor market is open too if you want to buy any of their goods in-person.
This orchard has a huge selection of apple varieties, so we won’t even try to list them all. At last count, they had 25.
Their apple harvest lasts well into November. Picking hours are Friday – Sunday 10:00 am – 6:00 pm.
