
Summer will be much more fun and Rhode Islanders have many summer camp choices. However, check for COVID-19 guidelines.
Here are just a few of Rhode Island’s best summer camps this year. Your children can learn to sail, build a robot, or just get out and have a whole lot of fun.
Bristol
The Herreshoff Marine Museum
The museum offers a youth summer camp for those between 7 and 15-years old. It includes nine weekly sessions teaching seamanship and sailing. Classes are conducted on classic vessels on Narragansett Bay. Scholarships and sibling discounts are available.
Central Falls
The Children’s Workshop
This nonprofit organization focuses on urban, low-income communities throughout RI. Their summer camps are suitable for children between 5 and 12-years old. Children enjoy fun and education, but the camp also fosters teamwork and good sportsmanship. Camps are also available in Pawtucket, Providence, Rumford and Warren.

Mother of Hope Camp
Mother of Hope Camp is a traditional, co-ed day camp for children ages 5 to 12-years old. This Catholic faith camp welcomes children of all backgrounds and religions. Kids learn new skills, make friends, and enjoy everything Echo Lake has to offer.
Coventry
Sylvan STEM & Academic Camps
Do you have a child that loves robots? Why not send them to a Build-A-Bot Camp where you child will build and program robots from LEGO® bricks? This program is suited for children in Grades 1 – 5.
If your child loves video games and animation, the Game Design 101 Camp could be exactly what they need. This program is suited for children in Grades 3 – 6. Both programs are also offered in Cumberland.
Cranston
MobileQuest STEM Center
Develop your child’s scientific mind in a STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) summer camp. They’ll work as team and face weekly challenges building, designing, engineering, and problem-solving. As a bonus, they’ll also learn coding basics using robots. This program is suitable for children between 6 and 12-years old.
Dream Big Gymnastics & Ninja Warrior Summer Camps
Does your child need to do something physical to burn off all their energy? Try a high energy summer camp that includes gymnastics, an obstacle course, bounce house, games, and more. Half and full days classes are available for children age 4 and up.
East Greenwich
Taste Buds Kitchen Summer Cooking Camps
Your budding chef will love Taste Buds Kitchen’s summer cooking camps. Kids will whip up a different menu each week from themes such as cooking science, food from around the world, and the cookie and cupcake challenge.
Half-day camps are available for kids ages 4-17. Full-day options are available for kids 10 and up.
East Providence
Summer at Gordon School
Kids ages 3 to 14 can enjoy a 7-week fun, engaging, and playful summer camp on Gordon Schools’ 12-acre campus. Facilities include art studios, a climbing wall, basketball and volleyball courts, a theater, playgrounds, athletic fields, a nature trail, and outdoor classrooms.
Newport
St. Michael’s Summer Fun Camp
This summer camp suits children ages 2 – 12. It runs for 7-weeks and includes age-specific activities.
Youngsters will explore weekly themes such as bugs, the farm, and artists. Kids 6 – 12 will enjoy more challenging activities such as sports and camp detecting.
Pawtucket
RITES Summer Academics
Rhode Island Tutorial and Educational Services offers morning reading and math classes for grades 1 – 4 and reading skills for grades 6 – 8. The afternoon is spent enjoying camp activities.
Campers can also partake in Orton-Gillingham tutorials and Speech-and-Language tutorials to polish their language skills.
Providence
Moses Brown Summer Camps
Moses Brown offers summer camps for children between 3 and 17. They’re traditional and include a mixture of academics, arts, science, sports, and technology.
Providence Country Day Summer Programs
PCD offers three camps this summer: Arts and Exploration, Culinary, and Fashion. These safe, fun, and engaging camps are meant for children between the ages of 4 and 15. Register soon as classes fill quickly.
Summer at Lincoln School
Lincoln School partners with other organizations in Narragansett to offer their own signature camps and a variety of specialty camps in Providence, East Providence, and Narragansett.
Their programs suit children between 5 and 16. Offerings include Gardens & Greens: Eco Warriors, a Girls Learning Workshop, and a PGA Junior Golf Camp.
