It’s November and it’s time for turkey, turkey trots, and 5k runs. Here’s a list of upcoming events on Rhode Island, so get out and burn a few calories and have some fun.
Barrington

- St. Luke’s School

This 19th annual event benefits school, sport, physical plant enhancements, family events and service ministry projects for the entire community. The race features prizes and a post-race party with turkey soup.
Block Island
- Nov. 24
- Fredrick Benson Town Beach
- 12:00 noon
Run or walk this 14th annual 5K on scenic Block Island. All proceeds go to an island charity and you can register through the link above.
Cumberland
F.I.T. 5K Turkey Trot Trail Race
- Nov. 22
- Monastery Park/ Cumberland Public Library
- 7:00 am – 10:00 am
Multilappers start at 7am so they can still get home for turkey dinner. Kids start at 9:00 and the 5k begins at 9:15. Prizes will be awarded for the best Thanksgiving inspired costumes, plus the top males and females in all age groups get awards in the second event in this trifecta.
East Providence
East Providence Turkey Trot 5K Run

Turn out for this event that benefits East Providence Recreational Department and their very worthwhile community events. Pre-register to receive a free T-shirt and the chance to win an award in your age division.
East Greenwich
East Greenwich Hill and Harbour Turkey Trot

- Armory on Main Street
- 8:30 am
This is the third year for this fully-sanctioned 5K race with prizes for top finishers in all divisions. Run through Main Street, the waterfront, and the hill district.
Middletown
Newport County’s Annual Pie Run

- Newport County YMCA
- 8:30 am
The Newport YMCA hosts this annual run in its 33rd year. Participate in a 5-mile USATF sanctioned road race or a 3-mile non-competitive walk/run. Bring a non-perishable food item for the local food bank and help the YMCA and local charities through registration.
North Kingstown

- Quonset Air National Guard Base
- 8:00 am
This is the first year for this event that benefits the EANGUS Solider and Airmen Relief Fund and the Junior Enlisted attending the Rhode Island National Guard Military Ball.
The first 200 registrants receive a T-shirt and category winners receive medals. Come out and support our military personnel.
Pawtucket
Rhode Island Family Turkey Trot 5K

- 10:00 am
Technical long sleeves are a requirement for this 5K race and youth fun run. Pre-register or register on-site and receive a free T-shirt. Category winners receive an award, but it’s all about the whole family and fun.
Warwick

- 8:00 am
Run for those in need. This worthwhile event benefits The Westbay Farm, the Westbay Marketplace Food Pantry, and the Warwick Rotary Charity Fund. Participants, please bring a non-perishable food item and pre-register.
