Our casual Fridays for the Month of November benefited the San Miguel School of Providence. We were permitted to dress down on Fridays with a donation to this great school. The agency matched the employees’ donations, and we are proud to be donating $200 to the San Miguel School of Providence.
San Miguel School is a private LaSallian Middle School for urban boys throughout the Greater Providence Area. It was founded in 1993 and is so successful it has become the model for 12 other similar LaSallian Schools. In case you are not familiar with Lasallian schools, they are educational institutions run by the De La Salle Christian Brothers, a Roman Catholic teaching order. Although the De La Salle Brothers are Catholic, the school serves boys from all cultures and creeds.
The De La Salle Brothers embrace and teach the principles of service, citizenship and personal responsibility. These principles combined with high expectations and rigorous academics are responsible for growing young men at risk into gentlemen with positive visions for the future. The San Miguel School is dedicated to the philosophy that education is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty. They believe that once the students see a positive vision for their future it will lead them to create positive changes in their lives and in their communities. Their vision is clearly working; 100% of students who attend San Miguel go on to high school and 90% of these students graduate.
We are honored to donate to such a wonderful school that is making a difference in the lives of boys in Rhode Island. For more information on the San Miguel School click here.
