Loiselle Insurance Agency was a proud sponsor of this weekend’s Relay for Life event at Tucker Field in Cumberland RI.
Throughout the month of May, we had casual Fridays at the office in order to raise more money for the fight against cancer. This weekend, the American Cancer Society brought cancer survivors and their friends and family together in Cumberland to honor and remember those who have fought the battle against cancer. If you have never been to a Relay for Life event, it’s something you should experience. The event is an organized, overnight community fundraising walk, where teams of people camp out around a track at a local school or park. The evening consists of a survivors lap and a luminaria ceremony, where decorative bags are illuminated around the track to remember those who lost their battles and to celebrate the survivors.
Jackie Pinto, one of our Personal Lines Customer Service Representatives, is a committee member for Relay for Life. Jackie helped bring this event to Cumberland for its 6th year. Our bookkeeper, Roberta Bernier, led a team, Rita’s Roses, in memory of her Mother.
Relay for Life Cumberland was made up of 26 teams, 226 participants and raised nearly $70,000!
Loiselle Insurance Agency wants to thank its staff members who donated and those who participated at the Relay for Life event. With your support, and thousands of volunteers across the globe, the American Cancer Society is helping save more than 400 lives a day. We won’t stop until we finish the fight against cancer!
