St. Patrick’s Day celebrations are happening this year, but in very inventive ways. Check out some of these options that are COVID safe and fun.

East Greenwich

St. Patrick’s Day Cake-Off (Ages 8-13)

Mar. 19, 5:30 – 8:30 p.m.

Taste Buds Kitchen is offering kids a chance to create a masterpiece this St. Patrick’s Day. All participants try to replicate a mini vanilla cake complete with frosting and decorations that they can share. Ingredients are vegetarian and participants social distance.


St. Patrick’s Day Scavenger Hunt

  • Mar. 13, 1:00 p.m. – 3 p.m.
  • Aquidneck Park Playground

Newport Recreation wants everyone to get outside this year for a family scavenger hunt. Clues will be hidden around the park within walking distance of The Hut that lead to the pot of gold. All kids receive a small prize and the event is free. Participants must social distance.


St. Patrick’s Weekend Dinner

  • Order on Mar. 15 between 8:00 a.m. – 11:30 p.m.
  • Harvest Kitchen – 2 Bayley St

Order a ready to go dinner and support a non-profit job training program for under-served teens. Dinner for two costs just $32.50 with a choice of Harvest Kitchen’s yummy Corned Beef or their delectable Vegan Irish Stout Stew. Just reheat and enjoy. Be sure to order online by March 15th for a March 19th pick up between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.


St. Patrick’s Day in the Square

  • Mar. 13, 10:00 a.m. – 11:45 p.m.
  • Wayland Square – 138 Wayland Ave

This socially-distanced all-ages event benefits Operation Stand Down Rhode Island for veterans and their families in need. Enjoy live music between 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. as well as outdoor dining and a treasure hunt for a pot of gold!

Regency Plaza Virtual St. Patrick’s Day Trivia

  • Mar. 17, 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.
  • Virtual event through Regency Plaza Apartments

Enjoy a rousing game of trivia from the comfort of your home. Wear green and you will be entered into a draw for a $50 e-gift card. Players will be given a PIN # and directed to You’ll need two devices to participate (smartphone, tablet, or laptop) as you’ll watch on one and play on the other.


The Luck of the Irish

  • Mar. 14, 7:00 – 10:00 p.m.
  • 84 Cumberland St. – drive-thru event.

The St. Ann Arts and Cultural Center is serving up corned beef and cabbage for this Irish event. All proceeds benefit the St. Ann Arts and Cultural Center that does so much to keep creativity alive and well in Woonsocket. Tickets: $15 in Advance and $17 on Saint Patty’s Day. Just drive-thru and enjoy your meal wherever it suits you most.

St. Patrick’s Celebration

  • Mar. 21, 3:00 – 7:00 p.m.
  • 99 Louise St. – St Joseph’s Veterans Association

If you miss out on Paddy’s Day, you can still celebrate. St. Joseph’s Veterans Association is throwing a shindig on Sunday with food, fun, and karaoke. Get out and don’t forget social distancing and to wear something green.
