Reflecting on 2015:

2015 was a tough year for many people. It seems that everywhere you turn, there are people struggling in one way or another. It is during this time of year that I am reminded of the many blessings in my life that I often take for granted.  There are so many families in our communiity that  lack the basic necessities, such as a warm bed, a healthy meal, and a loving family. The need is great in our local community, with so many families and children who are less fortunate. One of the wonderful ways to give back and help local families is through the Salvation Army’s Christmas Angel tag program.

The Christmas Angel Tree

The Salvation Army Christmas Angel tag program collects names of under privileged children throughout the area.   Individual tags are then completed with the child’s basic information such as age and gender, as well as items that he/she needs or would like for Christmas.

Our Favorite Holiday Tradition

Participating in this wonderful cause is one of our favorite holiday traditions here at Loiselle Insurance Agency. This year, we received 40 Christmas Angel tags. The tags were very humbling.  The majority of the tags were requesting coats, gloves, socks and pajamas; basic necessities that most children would never even think to ask for.salvation army christmas angel tree

While participation was voluntary, everyone in the office took a tag or 2, some even took 3! As we each brought our Christmas Angel presents into the office, the basement began to resemble Santa’s workshop. Everywhere you looked were bags filled with clothes, coats and toys! Everyone was extremely generous, hopefully making Christmas a little brighter for local children. In today’s world, with all the bad things happening, this was a nice reminder that kindness and compassion truly do prevail.
