Over the years Mother’s Day has become quite an elaborate holiday.  Greeting card sales sky rocket near Mother’s Day and the U.S. post office has its busiest time of year.  The phone lines buzz with excitement as sons and daughters give their moms a call on that special day.  What are your Mother’s Day plans this year?

There are so many things you can do to show your mom you care.  You do not have to spend a lot of money on a gift either.  Let’s face it; your mom wouldn’t want you to do that anyway!  The biggest thing most moms want on Mother’s Day is to spend time with their kids.  Even if you live far away from Mom, you can still give her a call and more importantly your undivided attention.

If you live close by, how about stopping over for lunch or taking her to her favorite restaurant?  If all those Mother’s Day crowds are not your thing, you can always purchase a gift certificate to her favorite restaurant with the promise of a date the next weekend instead.  Just make sure you follow through!

Your mom deserves so much.  Mother’s Day is the perfect time to show her how much you care.  Just talking with her might be enough to make her say as bright as you hope it will be.  Sit down and discuss topics she likes to talk about.  Set aside any issues the two of you may have and just appreciate all that she has done for you over the years.  Reminisce about all the good times and end the day with an “I love you, Mom.”  You will both be happy you did it.  Whatever you decide to do on this Mother’s Day, just make sure your mom knows you care.
